SUMMARY:"Still German" with Jane Behrends and Erica Christ
DESCRIPTION:Jane Behrends is a German immigrant who after almost 30 years in America\, still has her accent and an eye for the ironies of our culture. Her story ‘Keeping the Accent’ is a personal story about arriving somewhere unexpectedly and finding reasons to stay. Told through four vignettes\, it traces how a place that never meant to be home began to feel like one through small\, ordinary encounters that quietly added up. Along the way: official checkpoints\, unexpected moments of grace\, and a family history carried across multiple generations. Some parts of us change with time. Others stay with us forever. \n Jane Behrends Erica Christ \nEric Christ is the host of Cheap Theater\, daughter of German Immigrants who founded and still operate the venerable Black Forest Inn\, and a witty commentator on ordinary life. \n  \n\nTo register: \n\n\nAdd the number of tickets you want by clicking the ‘+’ button\nClick the ‘Get Tickets’ button\nNote- After purchase\, tickets & receipt may arrive in your ‘Junk Mail’ folder \n\n\n

SUMMARY:Light & Dark
DESCRIPTION:Light & Dark: An exploration in stories featuring Annie Wiborg\, Stan Bookout\, Lisa Mathews\, and Peter Bretl \nIs there light at the end of the tunnel? Can we possibly know? Are we afraid of the dark? Do we have to decide? Four tellers go deep (or not so deep) on existential questions\, personal recollections\, and observations on the lightness and darkness that we all experience as we seesaw our way through life. \nArtist Bios: \n \nAnnie Wiborg has performed at The Moth where she is a two-time GrandSLAM winner\, The American School of Storytelling\, Truth be Told\, The Herd\, We Belong\, Comedy Through the Chaos\, and WTF: Love\, Loss and Why I Swore\, as well as Listen to Your Mother. \n \nStan Bookout has been a regular at the American School of Storytelling for about two years. He has also performed at slams at the Storyteller’s Lair. His stories range from growing up in the deep south to adventures\, and misadventures in other countries. \n \nLisa Mathews has traveled all of her life\, internationally\, culturally and culinarily —there’s nothing better than a run though a market in Cairo or an Indian taco at a pow wow. Trained in film studies\, Lisa’s world is a riot of color\, texture and complexity. \n \nPeter Bretl has performed at the Moth\, Uproar Comedy at BLB\, The Strike Theater\, and The American School of Storytelling\, where three of his shows in 2026 sold out. He is also a co-founder of performance events at the Storyteller’s Lair. His work is raw\, comedic\, and stealthily sweet.
