His meetings with people and places along the journey open up the history\, culture\, and experience of this part of the Midwest in a way that will captivate any reader. \n$10 suggested donation for this event. \n \n“Much of the power and impact of The Long Way Home is conveyed through Herwig’s humility\, gift for clear yet understated description\, and the slow unfolding of the interior territory of memory\, pain\, and healing.” \n \nAuthor Bio: Tim was born in Rantoul\, Illinois in 1958 and moved to Albert Lea\, Minnesota shortly before his 5th birthday.  After graduating from high school\, he went on to earn his B.A. at St John’s University in Collegeville\, Minnesota and M.A. at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville\, Virginia\, both in English.  After graduate school\, he lived 20 years in Minneapolis.  He now has lived for 25 years in Chicago.  He lives in the Andersonville neighborhood with his wife and teenaged son. \n
